FAQs
About Maxwell Energy
What is Maxwell Energy?
Maxwell Energy is an integrated EV energy and battery intelligence platform designed to improve charging performance, protect long-term battery health, and preserve vehicle value. The Maxwell ecosystem connects intelligent home charging, ultra-fast public charging, verified battery data, and battery health scoring into a single infrastructure system.
What makes Maxwell Energy different from other EV charging networks?
Most EV charging solutions focus only on speed or convenience. Maxwell Energy is built around battery health and long-term value.
Maxwell provides:
- Battery-safe charging controls at home and in public
- Ultra-fast DC charging without unnecessary battery stress
- Verified battery health scoring
- Custody and ownership tracking that follows the vehicle
- Eligibility for extended battery coverage based on charging behavior
No other platform combines charging infrastructure, battery intelligence, and verification in one ecosystem.
The Maxwell Energy Ecosystem
What happens when I charge with Maxwell Energy?
Every Maxwell charge is managed and recorded. Charging speed, thermal conditions, and state-of-charge windows are actively controlled to help preserve battery health. Verified data from each charge strengthens your Battery Health Score and supports coverage eligibility.
How fast are Maxwell chargers?
Maxwell public chargers can deliver up to 200 miles of range in as little as 15 minutes, depending on vehicle capability.
Maxwell home systems can charge significantly faster than standard Level 2 chargers by drawing power from the grid, solar, and on-site battery storage simultaneously.
Is faster charging bad for my battery?
Uncontrolled fast charging can accelerate degradation. Maxwell’s systems are designed to balance speed with battery protection by actively managing charge parameters. Faster charging is delivered only within battery-safe limits.
Battery Health & Data
What is a Battery Health Score?
The Battery Health Score is a verified assessment of your battery’s condition based on real charging behavior, thermal exposure, and degradation indicators captured across the Maxwell ecosystem.
The score is:
- Independent and third-party verifiable
- Designed to follow the vehicle, not the owner
- Useful for resale, refinancing, and trade-ins
How is battery data collected?
Battery data is captured through:
- Maxwell home charging systems
- Maxwell public DC fast chargers
- Maxwell Pods used for custody and verification
This creates a trusted, continuous battery record over time.
Is my battery data private?
Yes. Battery data is securely stored and access-controlled. Data is never shared without authorization. Only aggregated or permissioned information is made available for resale or coverage purposes.
Battery Coverage & Vsc
What is the extended battery coverage?
Eligible EVs enrolled in the Maxwell EVBDI program may qualify for extended battery coverage enabled by verified charging behavior. Coverage is supported through Vehicle Service Contracts (VSCs), not add-on warranties.
Does extended coverage cost extra?
No additional premiums are required. Coverage eligibility is maintained through participation in the Maxwell ecosystem — not through separate insurance products.
How do I maintain coverage?
To maintain active coverage eligibility and Battery Health Scoring, EV owners simply need to charge at least once per year at a Maxwell public charging location. Charging more frequently strengthens the battery record and scoring.
For EV Owners
How do I qualify for the Maxwell EVBDI program?
EV owners qualify by installing a Maxwell home solar + battery + EV charging system through a power purchase agreement (PPA).
Monthly payments are structured to be no more than your current electricity cost, with no large upfront payment and no traditional debt.
Do I have to change how I drive or charge?
No. Maxwell’s system works in the background. You charge normally while the infrastructure manages battery-safe behavior automatically.
Does the Battery Health Score affect my warranty?
The Battery Health Score does not replace manufacturer warranties. It provides independent insight and verification that can support coverage eligibility, resale confidence, and valuation.
For EV Dealers
How does Maxwell help dealers sell more EVs?
Maxwell reduces buyer hesitation by providing:
- Verified battery health at resale
- Eligibility for extended battery coverage
- Reduced uncertainty around battery condition
Dealers can also present Maxwell enrollment as a way to lower effective monthly payments for buyers.
Do dealers need new tools or diagnostics?
No. Maxwell integrates without requiring new service equipment, testing bays, or operational workflows.
For Property Owners
How much does it cost to host Maxwell chargers?
There is no capex, no debt, and no maintenance cost to host Maxwell Energy infrastructure when participating as a Community Energy Hub.
What is a Community Energy Hub?
A Community Energy Hub integrates:
- EV charging infrastructure
- Local energy generation and storage
- Grid services and data infrastructure
- Participation in the Maxwell EVBDI ecosystem
Property owners benefit from new revenue streams and increased visitation without financial risk.
What types of properties qualify?
Ideal properties include:
- Retail centers
- Office campuses
- Multifamily communities
- Healthcare facilities
Mixed-use developments
